html - IE z-index relative/absolute bug in list -

I have the following navigation where .topNav has the status: Relative and all-inclusive status: Absolute. I can not disclose the Ziblist to the main list due to Zee-index problems. This is a known problem.

  & lt; Ul & gt; & Lt; Li class = "topname" & gt; About us & lt; Ul class = "subnav" & gt; & Lt; Li & gt; Sub-section A & lt; / Li & gt; & Lt; Li & gt; Subdivision B & lt; / Li & gt; & Lt; / Ul & gt; & Lt; / Li & gt; & Lt; / Ul & gt; Do anyone know of an alternate solution?

UPDATE, which is the problem I had, my original posting was in the context of a list but I have reduced this problem from the fact that the z-index does not seem to work When there is an element with the position: Position with a basic element inside: Relative <

This is a very good article which tells that machineguost is on stacking issues.

What you might want to consider (depending on why you want positioning on many elements). Adding a hover selector to the badge (Use Javascript for IE 6) which adds the class to give relativity.

  .base: hover {position: relative;}

This means that the second is not the situation in the box: relative.
