multithreading - How do I compile Perl 5.10 with thread support under FreeBSD 7.1? -

I am trying to compile Perl 5.10 on my FreeBS 7.1 (BSD) server, but when I run the configured script I get the following error in the questions:

... POSTIX sources should be supported by FreeBS 7.1 ... but libc_r is unavailable in your system

Googling for the answer came with installing gethostnamadr.c which is fine except for two things :

  1. I do not know that the file where to put and
  2. see if libc_r my configured so how does it solve my problem?

To enable Perl 5.10 threads on Free BSD 7. * Apply the following patch by using the patch which you have to do. After that you can make Dusethreads with Perl- or enable Configure file questions to enable threading and you are good to go I have not yet tested any important tests or comparisons. All done, but everything improves the pouch with Libs and all my Perl programs work fine.
