iis - Should DFS be used to sync wwwroot? -

I am thinking that is it good idea to use DFS to sync content across the web farm? Does anyone have any experience with this? We've used Robocopy in the past but found it a bit messy and basin. Basically we want to avoid making ten changes in the content in a file change all the time (our site is outdated and since using Classic ASP, There is a lot to happen.)

Whatever I collect, DFS is usually geographically different locations and the UNC share is easy for users to use and Look easy to manage.

What I want to achieve with this is to copy the content changes in one of the only 10 servers hub. I will then configure the other nine servers as a spokesperson using the FRS.

Any ideas on this method or suggestions for a better method will be highly appreciated.

For reasons of performance, do not point to a web site on a UNC path. SMB file access is extremely inefficient and slow compared to any other file access method.

You can use DFS-R (via Windows 2003 R2) to enable replication between DFS-enabled shares, but surely to pinpoint the local path of IIS share For, no UNC
