visual studio 2008 - What is ec2-authorize? -

I'm new to EC2 and trying to install it so that I can publish it directly from VS 2008 . Every person mentions using "ec2-authorize" to enable some things, but what is it? Nowhere it explains what it is or where it has come from, I saw it in the actual EC2 example from a command line, but there is nothing.

PS I am using a Windows example of EC2.

What are you actually trying to do? Manage large number of instances or publish / publish new code in an example?

The firewall related to your example is a simple command to control the rules, such as port 80 for your web server.

You do not need to install Java, if it can only use some small events / operations that support most operations from EC2 API.
