web applications - XQuery as alternative to JSP/Java for web services? -

Did I see that Datelogic (or Marcologic?) And SQL Server 2005 support for both RDBMS access exquire (and; JSP / Exquisite offer within ASP) I wonder if Java code can disappear from the presentation layer or not. To wit. JSP / ASP is the only HTML plus exquire code that reaches directly to DBMS without normal models and controller layers. I do not need a layer of business rules / application for the app I'm in, so I'm not worried about it.

Has anyone tried this? (BTW I know that Xquire needs Java to work, I'm thinking of reducing the number of languages, programmers have to learn to get a web app in the air).

Another way to store XML server is another method that stores XML data and uses to extract results and return on server side (I work on MarkLogic, we Create an XML server, try it here :)

In this architecture you have a server that has XML storage and XQuery. If you get formatted results in HTML form, then you now have two-level systems. Of course you can use AJMX directly from within the XML server on the page.

An advanced form of this architecture is called XRX. For more information, see this post:
