ruby - Is there a good argument for combining Flex and Rails? -

Since the rail is already an effective rich internet application framework because the way it makes Ajax so easy, What is the logic of using tracks and flex with Flex in the form of front end rather than HTML? One of my programmers said that he uses this combination because Flex is very good for RIA. My argument is that the railways are already great on it - why add additional complexity? Another major disadvantage to do this is that you can not use HTML in your front end because Flex makes it very problematic. It seems that this combination of technology proposals seems like a lot of cost to pay for the benefit.

It all depends on your definition of what your RIA (Rich Internet Application) really is. For some, an AJAX enabled web application bill may fit for others, RIA contains high-styled elements, a high level of interactivity and a good part of the animation.

If you are one of those people who think on the lines of the first requirements, then the great. An AJAX enabled ROR app for your RIA will be sufficient for people connected to the second group, ROR is another way to provide RIA's data backend, which uses Flex / Flash for its presentation.

Personally, I believe that ROR together with Flex

is a much more dynamic, more than a standard AJAX enabled web application Provide attractive RIAs.
