Differences between Java and C# and .NET -
Possibly sorry to return flame, but it's not what I want.
I have only made serious developments in Linux using C and C ++, and I am trying to take a dip in Windows. I'm reading something and asking around, and I think that with C #, .NET is a way to go for the development of professional user-oriented business applications for Windows.
The big idea for me is to integrate the user interface into the desktop, since this user ultimately interacts with the interval. Is it possible to rebuild the format of Office 2007 GUI in Java, for example, or is it possible only with .NET?
I'm also worried about portability, in the future, I can stop applications in Linux. I know about the Mono project, but I am thinking that it will not be better to go with Java.
In short, what is the trade off between Java and C when professional, user-oriented is primarily intended for Windows.
is in the most important bit "/ P>
if you only If you need to work on Windows, then there is a better bet than C # Java.It has a better variety of visual styles that mix well with Windows. Such as the bits of Win32 API or COM libraries). Personally I prefer it as a language I do, but this is a different matter.
If you have to run on other platforms, then I seriously Java though it has a lot of speed, it does not have the same degree of compatibility with NAT because Java Supports various platforms.
So basically, the "want to port" aspect very carefully - this is a driving factor in judgment, from my point of view once you make a port If you decide, it does not matter that 90% of your customers are on Windows - the remaining 10% still have to work and work well.
