css - using javascript to mark a link as visited -

FF does not mark (atleast) the link (at least): if onclick handler without following the href It is turned on and then visited. I am using onclick to fetch data from a server and modify the page and the link style looks appropriate. But not marked as a link.

Is there a cross-browser way to mark as a link? Doing so, is there a way to detect the browser: Apply it to the visited styling and links?

Thanks to all those who answered.

It looks like answers are:

  • Is there a cross-browser approach to how to mark this link ?
No, there is no way to do this. Accidents are identified as detected if the href browser is in history
  • What is a way to detect a browser: Visit style?
    No, not just via javascript

Here's the information that I how did it. The HTML5 History API works only in that support.

  # Turn on the current URL using current_url = window.location.href # to replace a new entry in the history of browser history.Sthere ({}, "" , Desired_array) # To change the URL history, replace the location again. Using the place ({}, "", current_url)

Replacement means that the back button will not be affected. / P>
