c# - Native C++ or .NET for Business App? -

The deal is: I am in the process of planning mid-sized business applications which absolutely The official .NET support for Win2k AFAIK, Win2k was canceled some time ago (IIRC, it was discontinued on version 2.0).

Now, I have already written the same (already) libraries in C ++ which allows me to complete the final result (i.e., finish this project) as soon as I apply this application I am writing with the help of NIT Framework - then The "profit" of the NET is almost denied.

I am sure that many people here are dealing with business applications which require the support of the old OS. So, considering my library status, what are the benefits of using NET on the original C ++ and vice versa? I just do not know what is right for the job - because it seems that I can use it again, there are issues supporting this framework ...

if necessary , Then I will happily add more information

The last .NET version that runs under Windows 2000 .NET 2.0 SP2 is. This includes the necessary features for System.Core.dll (which is part of .NET 3.5).

The answer is yes, you can use .NET 3.5 SP1 under Windows 2000 if you have .NET 3.0 libraries (WCF, WF, WPF, CardSpace) are not used. But you have LINQ, LINQ to XML, LINQ to SQL

The only thing you need to do is the three core .NET 3.5 SP1 files:

  • System.Core.dll
  • System.Xml.Linq.dll (XML from LINQ)
  • System.Data.Linq.dll (SQL from LINQ) < / Li>

Loss of this method (read carefully):

  • This scenario is not supported by Microsoft.
