svn - How do I correct "Commit Failed. File xxx is out of date. xxx path not found." -
I have recently launched a particularly sticky issue is about the result of the merger in amputation. Our Subversion server is 1.5.0 and my TortoiseSVN customer is now 1.6.1.
I am trying to merge a facility branch back into my trunk. Merge appears to work fine; However, the promise failed with the following error message
Commit failed (follow the details):. File Flex / src / com / penbay / Invision / portal / services / http / soap / ReportServices / GetAllBldgsParamsByRegionBySiteResultEvent.as / SVN / Ibis /! SVN / wrk / 531d459d-80fa-ea46-bfb4-940d79ee6d2e / visual / trunk / source / Flex / src / com / penbay / Invision / portal / services / http 'out of date' /soap/ReportServices/GetAllBldgsParamsByRegionBySiteResultEvent.as' The path is not found. You must update your methodology for the first time My work trunk is up to date. I have also done a new check in a separate folder to ensure that the merge There is no local fury along with. I have done some research and I think that the problem of user error I think that our problems:
- A dissolution Some developers 15 years ago and after a few after Had worked with the customer. I believe it has the ability to corrupt the merge information.
- Other branches have the same partial merger, we have not always merged into the root of the branch it flex and at the same branch. There was facility to update NET efforts.
- We merged the cyclical (introspection) on our branch because we had several parallel branches and we wanted to update our branch with the latest code in the trunk from time to time, it was done.
All these things are not explicitly recommended by the Subversion Book / Team. We have learned our lesson and now know the best practices, however, we first need to merge and commit our latest branch.
Is this the best way to correct the problem we are facing?
Will the information of all merge in the trunk be removed and the branch be a viable solution? No. I did this but it does not solve the error that I am getting up.
I have this issue today and I can be applied not only # 1 Because of your opening post, any intermediate has merged together - but I have made both windows in Tubes with TortoiseSVN along with an SVN client in ubuntu. Fortunately, no change was made in the trunk in my case, so I could replace the trunk with the branch. Maybe different svn version then? This is a lot of worrisome
You use SVN transferred / copying / deleting tasks only to lose any history in my case - .. I was taken to the trunk and then moved to branch to SVN trunk svn
