Accessing and setting iPhone's alarm / User alert on timed interval -


Is there any way to access or set an alarm for an iPhone? If this is not available, then I am thinking that the only other way to alert the user at a time bound interval is push notification. Any ideas?

There is no public API to access calendars or alarms.
