Assessment / knowledge testing questions -


For all the technicians that you have to assess a new Sehgal (for example, a job interview or the use of contractors) Do you ask questions during the sessions to measure the technical knowledge of the candidate? For example, the common question I use is to explain the difference between an open or closed diamond in UML diagrams. Or the true conceptual attributes of an object-oriented paradigm.

The first thing to do is to make sure that the person speaks "Hello, the world" (Or like something different but equally trivial, like reading a row's input and behind it), you might be surprised that people take this filter out.

Then, they want to make it a bit more difficult, like changing the tree's data structure or behind the linked list. Again, you will be surprised how many can not manage it.

If they do not automatically write unit tests while writing code to solve these problems (which is okay because I do not expect everyone to think that an interview is in the establishment, While), I would have asked them to write some unit tests for them if they do not know what a unit exam is or how to use the unit test structure in given language, I think They have not done a lot in the language of serious software engineering in that language.

Conceptual questions are some of the worst types, a person may have some obscure concept of object orientation or UML and be able to answer their ideological questions, and nothing about actual programming. Address.
